Goals, goals, goals is what I’m expecting from this match-up between two of the A-League’s highest scoring teams this season.
Perth Glory are so effective going forward. They win the ball high up the field and then break on you with the likes of their veteran Diego Castro Jimenez leading the way and they’re on a very good run now.
But while they have been scoring plenty so far this season, I do worry that they give away a lot of opportunities at the other end, as they did in their last game against Brisbane Roar.
If they do that against Central Coast Mariners there’s going to be goals in this one. It remains to be seen whether they’ll try and tighten up at the back or continue with their all-out attack style and just try and score more than the opposition.
Central Coast Mariners were very unlucky in their last outing against Adelaide Utd – three goals conceded, all penalties! To be honest, as a player, you get games like that, you just have to shrug them off as bad luck and I think they will as they have had a wonderful season so far.
Alou Kuol remains their super sub from the bench. When everyone else is starting to tire he comes onto the field with young, fresh legs and causes defences all kinds of problems, scoring more often than not.
It’s going to be an exciting game for the neutral with plenty of goals, but I think the league leaders will come out on top.
